On 30 August, the new e-Business Register portal ariregister.rik.ee was launched, conveniently consolidating all existing commercial register services into one environment.

“Where previously the Company Registration portal had to be used to submit petitions, annual reports and petitions for making changes to members of political parties and the e-Business Register information system had to be used to perform checks on legal entities, all the services are now conveniently consolidated into one environment for the entrepreneur. The e-Business Register will be updated over the next two years to make it even more user friendly to businesses and their partners. ,” said Viljar Peep, Deputy Secretary General of the Ministry of Justice.

In the course of the development of the new portal, the sections for founding a company, amending the data and searching for legal entities have all been updated. “In addition, comparing legal forms, which helps the entrepreneur to choose the most suitable type of legal entity for them to found, is a whole new tool,” Mehis Sihvart, Director of the Centre of Registers and Information Systems, said.

The module for preparing and submitting annual reports that will also be available through the new e-Business Register is currently available in the old user interface, meaning that its view and functionalities will initially remain the same, but the plan is to also update this in the coming years. “The reason is that the next step for the module of annual reports is a separate analysis of how the collection of reporting data can be simplified in general. Over the years, additional requirements arising from amendments to the law have been added to the view of submitting annual reports, which has made the submission of data more extensive for entrepreneurs,” Sihvart explained.

The new e-Business Register also includes a help environment with a convenient search function, which guides and explains activities for electronically interacting with the commercial register. The Centre of Registers and Information Systems has prepared a video available here to introduce the possibilities of the new portal.
